General Graardor Event Guide! Empty
PostSubject: General Graardor Event Guide!   General Graardor Event Guide! I_icon_minitimeMon Apr 18, 2011 4:30 am

There is going to be a general graardor event scheduled next Friday at 5 p.m. (UTC -05:00)
To join in on this requires a few (not many requirements)

One of them is Is the quest Troll Stronghold Look here. Without doing this it is near impossible getting to the dungeon without losing a good portion of your health, and as a result you'll be more susceptible to death.

Another requirement is 70 Strength. Without this you won't even be able to enter the Bandos Throne Room. So this is a must.
Another major requirement is 43 prayer AT THE MINIMUM. General Graardor has the ability to hit 600 damage in one blow so this is a MUST.

The levels I recommend you to have to fight this boss efficiently are:

(If using Melee)
70+ Attack
75+ Strength
70+ defense
60+ magic (considering one of Graardor's guards will be constantly pelting you with spells, this would help you get more splash)
52+ Summoning (A beast of burden will increase the amount of kills we could get before going to the bank; if lacking you may use a bull ant pouch but the timer is much lower for it)
70+ Constitution

(If using Range)
80+ Range (General Graardor has high ranged defense)
75+ defense (The lack of defense bonuses from ranged equipment may cause you to suffer)
50+ magic (the recommended requirement is lower than the meleeing because ranged armor comes with a magic defense bonus)
70+ Constitution

Magic is near impossible to Combat it with because of General Graardor's huge magic defense.

Recommended equipment

Setups:

* Helmet: Verac's helm > Helm of neitiznot> Helm with good defense (I prefer Barrows helms)
* Neck: Amulet of fury > Amulet of glory
* Torso: Bandos chestplate > Karil's top > Zamorak body > Black d'hide body
* Legs: Bandos tassets > Torag's platelegs > Zamorak chaps > Black d'hide chaps
* Boots: Dragon boots > rock climbing boots> Ranged: ( Ranger boots> Snakeskin>frog leather)
* Cape: God cape/cloak (either zammy or sara)
* Side/Spec weapon: Dragon claws/Armadyl godsword>Bandos godsword/Saradomin godsword/Enhanced excalibur/Darklight
* Main weapon (if melee): Bandos godsword/Saradomin godsword/Abyssal whip(not recomended)
* Main weapon (if ranged): Chaotic crossbow > Rune crossbow
* Shield/sidearm: Divine spirit shield > Elysian spirit shield > Spectral spirit shield > Chaotic kiteshield > Dragonfire shield> holy book> (any form of a shield)
* Gloves: Barrows gloves, regen bracelet, combat bracelet, gauntlets
* Ring: Ring of wealth > Berserker ring > Ring of life
* Bolts: Ruby bolts(e) when fighting graardor, broad bolts when killing bodyguards
* Melee fighters should equip an arrow from a god since doing this will cause the followers to show nonaggression towards you.
(recommended equipment from gods: Bandos armor, Zamorak armor, Saradomin armor. Not needed but is extremely helpful)

Recommended inventory for ranged users:
1 ranging potion
1 super defense potion
2-4 prayer potions (the less your prayer level is the more you bring)
1 hammer (will be explained below)
A one click teleport (games necklace can be used to save space)
Rest of the inventory have high healing foods (sharks+)

Recommended inventory for melee users:
1 super attack potion
1 super strength potion
1 super defense potion
2-4 prayer potions (the less your prayer level is the more you bring)
1 hammer (will be explained below)
A one click teleport (games necklace can be used to save space)
Rest of the inventory have high healing foods (sharks+)

The easiest method of killing 40 Bandos minions is to kill the goblins. The goblins are located in the main area and populate specific locations around the designated Bandos area. Another method is to kill hobgoblins, who are located just north of the entrance to God Wars Dungeon. Goblins are often full of other players who want to quickly get their 40 kill count, so hobgoblins are a good alternative. Wearing Bandos-related protection is extremely recommended. Players wearing Bandos-related protection will not be attacked by the Bandos followers in the God Wars Dungeon area or Bandos's Stronghold. It is also advised to wear Zamorak-related protection - Bandos's Stronghold has monsters who follow both Bandos and Zamorak. If a player has a planned armour setup that does not include Bandos- or Zamorak-related protection, they may choose to bring an extra item to wear while getting their killcount. Common items are god books, Ancient maces for Bandos, unholy symbols, Zamorak arrows, or a dip in the Bandos pool which provides full Bandos-related protection for one hour.

1. The strategy here is for a tank ( usually a high combat level) to attack general graardor and the other teammates kill his bodyguards ( there is a mage, melee and a range one, usually the mage one gets killed first because it's more of a threat). When both bodyguards are killed, all attacks are pointed toward general graardor. This is usually a good time to use special attacks (such as dragonclaw spec, ddp++, ardy & bandos spec) .If multiple people use Warstrike (Bgs spec), the drop in General Graardor's defense levels will make the fight much easier and quicker since people will hit max damage more often.
2. In this strategy General Graardor should be attacked first. After he is dead, most players choose to deal with Sergeant Steelwill next, as his Magical attack will be dangerous for soloers wearing melee armor. Sergeant Grimspike comes next, to get his Ranged attacks out of the way. Lastly, Sergeant Strongstack, the meleer, should be killed. It is advised to keep Protect from Melee on as players finish up the sergeants, as Graardor might respawn faster than a player is able to kill Sergeant Strongstack.
